Classifications of all sources in SDSS DR14 matched to the KiDS-VW photometric catalogue. (a) SDSS DR14 spectroscopic label assignment. The SDSS-QSO class contains a mixture of black holes in various states (BALs, AGN, obscured systems etc) (b) SDSS DR14 points coloured by their HDBSCAN labels (using the “optimal” consolidation method). The outliers are post-consolidation outliers and are defined as sources that could not be assigned unambiguously to a single object class by our HDBSCAN model in the PCA parameter space. (c) SDSS DR14 points, coloured in blue if in DR14Q, or grey if not in DR14Q. (d) SDSS DR14 points, coloured according to the labels of KIDS-DR3, or grey if not in KIDS-DR3.
