Weighted median values of n in u-, V-, and K-band as a function of RBCG. The values of RBCG are normalized into R200 units and the x-axis is divided into RBCG bins of 0.1 × R200. The error bars of each galaxy type in each bin are calculated as , where σ is the standard deviation and N is the number of galaxies of each galaxy type in each bin. The x-points are slightly shifted in order to make the errors more readable and the colour coding is the same as in Fig. 5. Points with no error bars are those with one galaxy inside the corresponding bin. We note that the number of galaxies per bin is not constant (see Table 3).
