Same as Fig. 5, but using a logarithmic scale for the velocity. The use of a logarithmic scale allows for the display of a wider range of velocities. A minor peak in the grey histogram can be seen between 100 ≲ vdis/km s−1 ≲ 400, but is absent in the histograms for massive ejected stars. Such high ejection velocities are reached through a common envelope evolution without accreting mass.
