Notes. The SEDs of the ionizing sources are from Weber et al. (2015) with metallicities of 0.1 Z⊙, 0.4 Z⊙, and 1.0 Z⊙. The H II regions have densities of nH = 10 cm−3 and their outer radii adjusted to allow 5−70% of the ionizing photons to escape. These are used as ionizing fluxes for the DIG (nH = 0.1 cm−3), scaled to 1050 ionizing photons s−1 for easier comparison. For the picket-fence cases, the line ratios listed for the H II regions are from optically thick, radiation-bounded (fesc = 0) models, while for the DIG the unaltered stellar SEDs (corresponding to fesc = 100%) are used as the ionizing fluxes (again scaled to 1050 ionizing photons s−1).
Current usage metrics show cumulative count of Article Views (full-text article views including HTML views, PDF and ePub downloads, according to the available data) and Abstracts Views on Vision4Press platform.
Data correspond to usage on the plateform after 2015. The current usage metrics is available 48-96 hours after online publication and is updated daily on week days.
Initial download of the metrics may take a while.
