The intensity of the color is chosen according to Eq. (F.1). A high log-probability of a pixel magnitude vector resulting from a specific component is here represented by a high numerical value in the commonly used RGB color scheme, which encodes brightness. White pixels are likely for all GMM components, black pixels for none. The galactic disk appears black due to the extreme values of its magnitudes that are unlikely for all components. The red, green, and blue regions are likely for the corresponding components.
