Comparison of lines of various ionization states (the ionization potential is given for each ion) for the two sightlines. All panels show velocities relative to zsys = 1.946938. For C I we show the total best-fit profile in blue, and we highlight the absorption from ground-state level in red (the red tick marks above show the location of the ground-state components). For Fe II, we show the best-fit profile in red and components as blue tick marks. For comparison, the same velocity components are shown for Al III. For the C IV doublet, we show only the zero-velocities as dotted vertical lines. The data have been rebinned by a factor of 2 for visual clarity.
