Positioning of the slits in the halo of NGC 3311. The small red slits are our novel set of observations, while the two blue and green long slits represent the positioning of previous work by Ventimiglia et al. (2010) and Richtler et al. (2011), respectively. One of the green long slits crosses the neighbouring giant elliptical NGC 3309 north-west of NGC 3311.
