FUV photodissociation cross sections of H2O and CO2 superimposed on the FUV spectrum of the T Tauri and Herbig Ae/Be stars (flux at 1 au) and on the spectral shape of the interstellar radiation field. We note for example that Lyα radiation becomes very important to photodissociate H2O but not CO2, which is photodissociated more efficiently at wavelengths shorter than ~1150 Å.
