Exact shapes of line profiles for different neutron stars spinning at 600 Hz. Observer inclinations span a range from i = 5° (red), 10° (blue), 20° (green), 40° (purple), and 60° (orange), to 90° (black). The energy in the horizontal axis is scaled with the compactness that would be expected from the gravitational redshift alone. Likewise, the flux in the vertical axis is always normalized with the peak flux to better show the evolution of the profile shape.
