Initial giant planetary configurations considered in this work. The 3D-POP systems include two planets whose mutual inclination is higher than 10° (see the second column for the different values of mutual inclination considered), while all the 2D-POP systems are coplanar. Two-planet systems are shown in blue, three-planet systems in red; the size of the points varies with the cubic root of the planetary mass (scale at the top). The horizontal axis shows the semi-major axis of the planets in logarithmic scale. The error bars represent the apastron and periastron of the planets. In the left panel, the first column corresponds to the index of each system, and the third indicates whether the system is in a resonant configuration. The vertical dashed line shows the outer edge of the disc of planetesimals and embryos.

Current usage metrics show cumulative count of Article Views (full-text article views including HTML views, PDF and ePub downloads, according to the available data) and Abstracts Views on Vision4Press platform.

Data correspond to usage on the plateform after 2015. The current usage metrics is available 48-96 hours after online publication and is updated daily on week days.

Initial download of the metrics may take a while.
