Distribution of galaxies at 0.45 <z< 1.1 as shown by the final VIPERS PDR-2 catalogue in the W1 and W4 fields (top and bottom cone diagram, respectively). Galaxy positions are projected along declination (1.5 degrees for W4, about 1.8 degrees for W1). Each galaxy is represented by a filled circle of size proportional to its B-band luminosity and coloured according to its rest-frame U−V colour.
