. For the 4U 1702−429 the best-fit values are M = 1.57 M⊙, R = 12.17 km, D = 5.47 kpc and X = 0.10. In the case of synthetic data, we have M = 1.5 M⊙, R = 12 km, D = 6 kpc and X = 0. When computing the χ2 values, we require that the number of counts in each spectral energy bin exceeds 50.
