Exemplification of the method for detecting galaxy clumps. On the left we show the number of disconnected regions with more than ten pixels as a function of flux level cut. When f = 1 the isophote limit represents the limiting area of the galaxy. On the right we show the contours corresponding to three different flux level cuts at 20%, 50% and 100% of total flux that are identified in the same color as the vertical lines in the left panel.
