Photonic crystal fiber (PCF) is connectorized at both ends, with sealed end facets, and is mounted in a segregated housing (box in the right part of the picture) for quick and easy replacement. The PCF output is coupled to a single-mode fiber (yellow) and guided to the knife-edge unit and fiber switch.
