The Local Bubble is included as it is a known ISM feature that occupies a portion of the line of sight, but does not contribute significant Faraday rotation and no associated polarized emission is observed. The Faraday depth of each region is shown below, with the two horizontal lines bounding the range of Faraday depths for different positions in the field; for any given direction and distance only one value in that range is appropriate. Grey shading and stars represent diffuse and point-source polarized emission respectively.
