Chandra ACIS surface brightness image of the NGC 4636 X-ray halo with bubble features contoured and labeled. Relic 2 is thought to have formed as a result of a different AGN outburst that predates the outburst that formed Relic 1, which indicates a cyclicity of the AGN activity in NGC 4636.
