Defining outer boundaries to jet source regions and approximating jet directions, from method 2. For each region – color-coded red (A), blue (B), green (C), and yellow (D) – we approximate the emerging jet direction to be the average of the surface normal vectors contained with that region, weighted according the angle of the Sun above the horizon of each facet. This seems to reproduce the observed features very well (see Fig. 8).
