The scheme for calibrating, processing, and combining individual snapshots of an MSSS field. Each field is observed in N snapshots, and each snapshot observation simultaneously observes M beam directions. In the case of MSSS-LBA, N = 9, and M is either 2 or 5 depending on whether the observations are done in 16-bit or 8-bit mode. For MSSS-HBA, N = 2 and M = 3 or 6. CP stands for Calibrator Pipeline; TPP for Target Pre-processing Pipeline; TIP for Target Imaging Pipeline; and GSM for Global Sky Model. See Fig. 5 for an overview of how these pieces fit together in more detail, and for the steps that make up each segment of the full pipeline.
