Top: in 2MAst HQb5 (maximum number of objects per 0.25 × 0.25 deg2 pixel is about 60), bottom: in UCAC4 HQ (maximum of about 25). The Magellanic Clouds (MCs) are marked. The Pleiades can easily be seen in both plots. A southern 2MAst HQb5 artefact, similar in appearance to the Pleiades, is also highlighted.
