Maximum orbital eccentricity of a planet as a function of semi-major axis in our binary system. The colours have the same meanings as in Fig. 8. Owing to gravitational perturbations, potentially habitable planets around a tight binary system periodically generate and lose orbital eccentricity. However, in our binary system, it is unlikely that this eccentricity would have a significant influence on the wind conditions seen by a planet in the habitable zone.
