Rate coefficients for the collisional excitation HCl J = 0 → 1 by H2. The previously available HCl-He rate coefficients, scaled by 1.38 to account for the reduced mass difference, are from Neufeld & Green (1994, orange circles) and Lanza & Lique (2012, blue circles). The new HCl-ortho-H2 and -para-H2 rate coefficients (Appendix A) are shown by black squares and diamonds, respectively.
