Error behaviour in SHAPE radiative transfer as a function of τ for several cases discussed in the text. The nebula is always a filled sphere with radius 8 arcsec. In the cases with offset, the first number corresponds to a pointing offset from the centre of the spherical nebula on the plane of the sky, while the second number refers to the offset towards the observer (i.e. the intensity is not measured at the profile peak at zero velocity, but at a certain point in the line wings, at a velocity corresponding to the emission in the examined region).

Current usage metrics show cumulative count of Article Views (full-text article views including HTML views, PDF and ePub downloads, according to the available data) and Abstracts Views on Vision4Press platform.
