RV semiamplitudes of all known sdB binaries with spectroscopic solutions plotted against their orbital periods (Kupfer et al., in prep.). Circles mark sdB binaries with compact companions, squares systems with M-dwarf or substellar companions, and diamonds binaries where the nature of the companion cannot be further constrained by photometry. The lines mark the regions to the right where the minimum companion masses derived from the binary mass function (assuming 0.47   M for the sdBs) exceed certain values. The binaries from the MUCHFUSS supplementary programme including CD30°11223 (Geier et al. 2013) are marked with filled symbols, binaries taken from the literature with open symbols.
