Comparison of the Si IV doublet (top, day 105) and Si III 1206 Å (bottom, days 105 and 349). The latter has been scaled for the comparison. The only absorption on day 349 was interstellar, mainly Si III 1206 Å and N I 1199–1201 Å. An absorption trough on Si III 1206 Å appears to corresponds to the feature on Si IV at ≈–1500 km s-1.
