Deviating a highly supersonic, isothermal flow by (at least) βtot = π/2 through n (right y-axis) subsequent shock passages at angle α (x-axis; in degrees; angle between flow direction and surface normal of shock) results in a total reduction of the Mach number by a factor Ftot (left y-axis).
