We rely on both ⟨3D⟩ (filled red circles and error bars) and 1D (open black circles) spectra. The error bars are omitted in the 1D case for clarity. The object represented by a triangle (LHS 4040) possibly has some contamination from a nearby M dwarf. The horizontal dotted lines correspond to a perfect match between spectroscopic and photometric parameters. This is an updated version of Fig. 12 from Tremblay et al. (2010).
