CaII H line of GJ 163 (purple) as obtained from co-adding the 55 available HARPS spectra. The same lines of stars with similar spectral type are shown for comparison (offset in wavelength). The height of the line was scaled to the mean number of counts per pixel in this particular HARPS echelle order. Spectral types were taken from Bonfils et al. (2013). As discussed in the text, GJ 163 is among the least chromospherically active stars in its spectral range.
