Fig. 34

Dynamic spectrum of LOFAR LBA data from an observation of 3C48 (J0137+331) at an elongation of 50 degrees from the Sun (top panel) taken on 07 March 2012. These data have been averaged to a time resolution of 1.24 s and a frequency resolution of 180 kHz, matching the full-resolution data for the corresponding time period from the Nançay Decametric Array (lower panel). The Nançay Decametric Array is an array dedicated to solar observation (data courtesy A. Kerdraon, Meudon-Paris). The radio emission appears to be consistent with a Type II radio burst from solar flare activity.
