Minimum value of the eigenvalue L at given Ξ, the dimensionless radius characterizing the system, as a function of Ξ, for the constant { E,V } case. When the minimum L is negative the system is unstable. The system becomes unstable at Ξ = 6.45, the same value as found in the thermodynamical approach. From the figure we can read the typical time scale of the instability. As Ξ → ∞, the asymptotic value L =  −0.042 is the same as for the other cases (see Figs. 2 and 3).
