Optical efficiency per grain radius Qabs/agr as a function of wavelength in the mid-infrared region for a selection of dust species likely to exist in the circumstellar environments of M-type AGB stars. Refractive index data were taken from Begemann et al. (1997) (Al2O3), Zeidler et al. (2011) (TiO2, MgAl2O4), Palik (1985) (SiO2), Jäger et al. (2003) (MgSiO3 and Mg2SiO4), and Dorschner et al. (1995) (MgFeSiO4).
