Longitudinal magnetic field images of the CH bright point shown in Fig. 6. The field of view is the same as in Fig. 6, and the images are scaled from –70 Mx cm-2 to +70 Mx cm-2. Whenever the magnetic cancellations are observed, the site is outlined by a black circle on the corresponding image. The circle is adjusted as precisely as possible to include only the involved magnetic features. A white arrow points at an emerging magnetic feature. The field-of-view has a size of 30″ × 30″. An animated version is available online, cf. Fig. A.1.
