Fig. 4

Wind velocities, mass loss rates, radiative acceleration and density for a grid of dynamical models with stellar parameters M∗ = 1 M⊙, L∗ = 5000 L⊙ and Teff = 2800 K, a piston velocity of 4 km s-1 and fabs = 1.0. The grid covers a range of chemical and optical dust properties, represented by the variables Tc and p, and includes in total 165 dynamical models. The sawtooth-like shape of the boundary between models with and without a wind is a consequence of the discrete number of models in the grid. The radiative acceleration and density is measured at the distance from the star when fc = 0.5 (where Td = Tc), averaged over pulsation cycle, and the velocity and mass loss rate are measured at the outer boundary of the model. The over-plotted contours are curves of constant condensation distance (Rc = 2,4,10) using Eq. (10).
