Abundances (with respect to H2) of hydrocarbon and aromatic species as a function of radius, starting at rs = 1.2 R⋆. Benzene starts forming at r > 2 reaching a peak abundance value at 3 R⋆. Hydrocarbons such as C4H4, C4H2, and propargyl C3H3 are also abundant in the dust formation zone.
