Table 1

Initial conditions of the three model galaxies with number of particles, mass resolution, and total mass of the different galaxy components.

Galaxy “1nb” Galaxy “01b” Galaxy “05b”
# Of particles

DM halo 3 × 105 3 × 105 3 × 105
Gaseous disc 2 × 105 2 × 105 2 × 105
Stellar disc 2 × 105 2 × 105 2 × 105
Stellar bulge 0 2 × 104 1 × 105

Mass resolution
[M/particle]

DM halo 3.615 × 106 3.612 × 106 3.602 × 106
Gaseous disc 1.191 × 104 1.191 × 104 1.191 × 104
Stellar disc 3.572 × 104 3.572 × 104 3.572 × 104
Stellar bulge 4.762 × 104 3.810 × 104

Total mass
[M]

DM halo 1.084 × 1012 1.083 × 1012 1.080 × 1012
Gaseous disc 2.381 × 109 2.381 × 109 2.381 × 109
Stellar disc 7.143 × 109 7.143 × 109 7.143 × 109
Stellar bulge 0 9.524 × 108 3.809 × 109

Notes. The total mass of all three model galaxies is the same. When including the bulges in model galaxies 01b and 05b, less mass is consigned to the dark-matter halo when initial conditions are generated.
