Extinction map of the GB for the complete region covered by the VVV survey. The A_Ks values are computed from E(J − K_s) measurements assuming Cardelli et al. (1989) extinction law for all tiles. At A_Ks values larger than 1.5 mag, the color scale saturates. The details of the extinction variation in the inner highly extincted regions, where A_Ks reaches up to 3.5 mag, can be more clearly seen in the upper panel of Fig. 6.
