Geometry of protoplanetary disk with embedded planet. We calculated the gravitational force from the planet (blue) on a vertical slice of the disk (red). For that purpose the gradient of the potential has to be vertically integrated along the dashed line that goes through the cell center. To obtain the total force exerted on the shaded disk segment, this value has to be multiplied by its area in the r − ϕ plane.
