The extinction AJ of the secondary as a function of the AJ of the primary for spatially resolved binary systems in Lupus (red), Chameleon (light blue), and Taurus (dark blue) based on observations of the individual components of each system (Brandner & Zinnecker 1997; White & Ghez 2001; Prato et al. 2003). These binaries have comparable separations to the target systems and are located in the same star-forming regions. The data show a trend of comparable extinction for each component.
