, for survey geometries resembling the 2dFGRS, the SDSS and a hypothetical full sky survey as a function of maximum redshift considered. We find that the determination of the local below redshifts of 0.1 (corresponding to ~400 Mpc) is fundamentally limited by cosmic variance to the 1% level.
