Distribution of the targets in the CALIFA mother sample in equatorial coordinates. The distribution over the two Galactic caps is obvious. Note that the north galactic plane part of the sample has been limited to δ >  +7° while the south galactic plane part does not have that limitation, to counterbalance the much lower number of SDSS objects in the south galactic plane region. The orange square at the center of the figure indicates the location of the Coma cluster.
