Effective temperature is plotted against a correction factor, EW(Al iii)/EW(Al iii + Mg ii), derived from the Al iii and Mg ii absorption lines at 4479.9 Å and 4481.0 Å respectively. This correction factor was obtained from the analysis for a sample of 30 B-type stars taken from Hunter et al. (2007) and Trundle et al. (2007) and based on the polynomial fit given by the solid black line.
