The completeness of the “COMA sample”, consisting of galaxies taken from SDSS, targets taken from CGCG, NED, and ALFALFA, and objects with spectra taken at Loiano (blue), is 98% (only 112 galaxies remaining without nuclear spectra). Galaxies selected from the SDSS alone (red), e.g. used by Mahajan et al. (2010) are incomplete by  ~20% in the highest luminosity bins, where most AGNs are expected.
