Variations of the activity tracer, or
Mount-Wilson S index, are correlated to the full-width-at-half
maximum of the cross-correlation function of stars BD -114672 (Left)
and HIP 21934 (Right). This indicates that the long-term velocity
variation is probably caused by the magnetic cycle of the star, rather than a
long-period planetary companion. The correlation is more significant for star
HIP 21934.
