Left: NACO/VLT Ks image of Par-Lup3-4 (top) and the result of subtracting a Moffat function (bottom). The dashed line represents the expected orientation of the circumstellar disk according to Fernández & Comerón (2005), and the solid line the direction of the NAOS reference star. Middle and right panels: MCFOST synthetic images of our two best models. We have fitted two datasets, C03 and 2MASS, which were acquired at different times and correspond to the most extreme (brightest and faintest) near-IR photometry of the target (see Sect. 4). The bottom panels show the residuals after PSF-subtraction. North is up and East to the left.
