Interferometers actually observe visibilities in the Fourier plane, although in this paper we will model interferometer data by its image-plane map. This should be a reasonable approximation if sampling in the Fourier plane is sufficiently good. However, it should be emphasized that the question of which space is best suited for cluster detection is important and currently under study.
