A comparable method, implemented in the widely used "lucy'' task in the STSDAS package, has been described by White (1993) and Stobie et al. (1994) and is based partly on earlier related work in the field of medical tomography. However, not enough details are provided to allow a complete comparison with the current work or that of Bertero & Boccacci (2005).

...${\it SNR} = 30 ~{\rm dB}$[*]
For Gaussian noise ${\it SRN} = 20~\log(\sigma_I / \sigma_z)~{\rm dB}$, where $\sigma_I$ and $\sigma_z$ are the standard deviation of the noise-free blurred image and of the noise respectively. For Poissonian noise, ${\it SRN} = 20~\log(b_{{\rm max}} /
b^{1/2}_{{\rm max}})~{\rm dB}$, where $b_{{\rm max}}$ is the maximum value in the noise-free blurred image.
