85% of galaxies in LEDA come from the automatic analysis of the POSS1 survey (Paturel et al. 2000) and 15% come from the literature, the main contributions coming from: Vorontsov-Velyaminov et al. (MCG), Nilson (UGC), Lauberts & Valentijn (ESO and ESOLV), Zwicky et al. (CGCG) - see Paturel et al. (2003a) for the details.

We checked also some possible correlations (e.g., q vs. $sec \ \zeta $ or q vs. |b|) without finding any significant correlation. The quality of images reflects only the quality of the sky, at the time of observation.
