We have developed a numerical model of the solar system where the integration of the planets and spin axes are performed simultaneously. This approach gives reliable results for integration periods 1-2 Myr and it also permits detailed studies of dynamical variables on very short time scales. If GR is included the simulation could in principle be taken further although there may be uncertainties with regard to tidal effects. Our approach has also interesting applications for climatic studies. We find very good agreement between radiation power and differentiated ice volume of the Earth. Both build-up and melting of ice are found to fit nicely with the theoretical model predictions.
