We present ground-based spectra of early-type star candidates in the Local Group galaxies M 33 and NGC 6822
taken at the 4.2 m William Herschel Telescope (La Palma, Spain). Photospheric parameters Teff
and were derived by LTE modeling of the Balmer lines. When possible, mass-loss rates were calculated
from the Hα profiles computing emission and scattering in the wind with the method of Scuderi et
al. ([CITE]). Five hot star candidates were found in M 33, out of seven stars analyzed, and two out of
three in NGC 6822.
Key words: galaxies: individual: M 33, NGC 6822 / stars: early type / stars: fundamental parameters / stars: atmospheres / stars: mass loss
