Effect on the measured intrinsic global GC velocity dispersions due to the finite FLAMES fibre size (1.2″diameter) and fibre positioning error (±0.1″) for a range of values for distance, seeing and intrinsic GC size. Positive values indicate an overestimation of the true dispersion due to finite aperture (black lines), while negative values indicate an underestimation of the velocity dispersion due to fibre centring (orange lines).

Current usage metrics show cumulative count of Article Views (full-text article views including HTML views, PDF and ePub downloads, according to the available data) and Abstracts Views on Vision4Press platform.

Data correspond to usage on the plateform after 2015. The current usage metrics is available 48-96 hours after online publication and is updated daily on week days.

Initial download of the metrics may take a while.
