The EDIBLES survey - X. The 6196 Å diffuse interstellar band: Identification of side DIBs as an indication of a small carrier molecule

DIB systems 6196, 6440, and 6623 Å in the HD 185418 (panel a) and HD 185859 (panel b) single-cloud sight lines. The main DIBs are at $\tilde{ν}$ ${\tilde v}$ = 0 and the weaker DIBs are indicated by vertical lines. The 6440 Å DIB is blended with another DIB. All systems were shifted to the wave number of the central DIB ${\tilde{ν}}_{cen}$ ${{\tilde v}_{{\rm{cen}}}}$ .
